Fukuoka Prefecture has launched a dedicated helpline, "Papa's Childcare Consultation Dial," to support fathers balancing work and childcare.
The free helpline, staffed by licensed psychologists, operates every Monday from 6 p.m. and is the first of its kind by a local government in Kyushu.
The initiative aims to reduce stress and isolation among fathers, amidst a rise in paternity leave, and encourage greater male participation in parenting.
Officials hope the service will provide families with timely emotional support.
