D2 BOYS SOCCER: Abington Heights Blanks Dallas to Capture 3A Crown
Abington Heights waited a year to avenge its loss to Dallas in the 2024 district championship game.
The Comets beat the Mountaineers during the regular season by four goals, but more importantly, they wanted to leave the field with gold medals draped around their necks.
Lucas Samala scored off an assist from Jack Leuthe 57 seconds into the game. Abington Heights rolled from there, topping No. 3 Dallas, 5-0, and capturing the District 2 Class 3A boys soccer title at Abington Heights High School.
“That was all the motivation we needed. We’ve been thinking about it all season,”
Abington Heights star Nico Bustos said of the loss to Dallas in penalty kicks last season.
