Residents from various communities and civic groups demonstrated outside the city's council chambers, calling for urgent action to address the water crisis.
Hundreds of water protestors from civil society organisations, trade unions, and residents' associations have vowed to continue their quest for an adequate water supply from the City of Johannesburg.
They say the inconsistent supply of water affects how often their children are able to attend school.
Frustrated Johannesburg residents have complained about the negative impact of ongoing water shortages on their children's education.
A memorandum of demands was handed over to Mayor Dada Morero, who committed to a meeting with the various organisations.
