The EVERY Co has raised $55m in Series D funding to expand its production of egg proteins via fermentation.
According to the company, most buyers are motivated by basic economics, rather than ethical or environmental arguments, when it comes to making eggs without chickens.
"We had a target of raising $50 million and ended up closing in on $55 million," said founder and CEO Arturo Elizondo.
The funding will help The EVERY Co expand its manufacturing capacity and move towards profitability, with products featuring its proteins set to launch at Walmart across the US.
