The Seattle Kraken's recently completed homestand ended on a disappointing note with a heavy 6-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks. The Kraken secured six out of a possible ten points across five home games, posting a 2-1-2 record during the stretch.
On Wednesday night, the Kraken suffered their first regulation home loss of the season. Despite an early spark from Ryan Winterton, who scored his first NHL goal to tie the game 1-1 late in the first period, San Jose quickly regained control.
The Kraken face a challenging weekend with back-to-back Central Division road games against struggling St. Louis (4-8-2) and strong Dallas (7-3-3). They then return home for a three-game homestand, concluding with a rematch against the Sharks.
"Collecting 60 percent of standings points would have earned a wild-card postseason bid last season."
Despite a promising start from Winterton, the Kraken endured a harsh defeat at home, concluding their homestand with modest success but facing tough road challenges ahead.
