Jackson Blake and Sean Walker each recorded a goal and an assist as the Carolina Hurricanes edged the Minnesota Wild 4–3 at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, N.C. Andrei Svechnikov and Nikolaj Ehlers also found the net, while Frederik Andersen stopped 21 shots to help Carolina improve to 9-4-0. The victory marked their second straight win and third in the past four games.
“Blake is probably the one who needs the most credit for tonight,” said Carolina coach Rod Brind’Amour. “The one goal was all him, and the other was just a great pass.”
Matt Boldy stood out for the Wild, scoring twice in his 300th NHL game. Minnesota, now 5-7-3, saw its two-game win streak come to an end despite 23 saves from goaltender Filip Gustavsson.
“They’re a high-pressure team. There were times I thought we handled it well, and there were times when there was another good team on the ice too,” said Minnesota coach John Hynes. “We got some looks in different segments of the game.”
Carolina combined sharp offense with solid goaltending to outlast Minnesota in a tightly contested matchup, fueled by Blake’s standout playmaking and Boldy’s milestone night.
