Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Stranger Things, responded to recent allegations of bullying and harassment involving stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.
At the show’s premiere, while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the Duffer brothers were questioned about the bullying claims. Ross Duffer said, standing beside his brother Matt,
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal onset matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
Shawn Levy, director and executive producer of the series, also shared insights on how the production addresses complaints of bullying to maintain a respectful atmosphere.
“At the end of the day, that’s the job,” Levy explained. “You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
He added that many stories circulating about the matter range from “wildly inaccurate” to simply “noise.”
The creators and director emphasize their commitment to a safe and respectful work environment, treating their cast like family and addressing concerns seriously.
