Flinders Port Holdings Debuts Custom Float at Christmas Pageant
Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) unveiled a specially designed float in the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, emphasizing the significance of maritime trade in delivering festive joy to South Australians.
Celebrating Maritime Trade’s Role
The pageant, a beloved tradition since 1933, marks the official start of the Christmas season in South Australia. Scheduled for 9:30am on Saturday, 8 November, thousands gather along the city streets each year to witness the event.
FPH said on social media, “We are thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float.”
The float honors the essential role maritime trade plays in bringing presents and holiday spirit to the community annually.
Design Highlights of the Float
- The first custom-built float in five years at the pageant.
- Features a detailed replica of an FPH Pilot boat.
- Includes a crew of straddle carriers, shipping containers, and festive FPH elves preparing Christmas gifts.
- Blue fabric ruffles below simulate the Pilot Boat moving through water.
FPH noted, “Our float is particularly special—it's the first custom-built float to join the pageant in five years.”
This week, FPH officially launched the float at Outer Harbor, with some FPH elves participating in the celebration.
