Ex-NFL Star Antonio Brown Extradited from Dubai in Attempted Murder Case

Former NFL player Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai and will face trial in Miami on an attempted murder charge connected to a shooting outside a boxing event earlier this year.

Details of the Case

The 37-year-old All-Pro wide receiver, best known for his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is accused of firing two shots at a man following an argument during an amateur boxing event in Miami’s Little Haiti on May 16.

According to an arrest warrant issued in June, Brown grabbed “a black firearm from the right hip area” of a security officer and fired at a man later identified as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu.

After the incident, Brown left Florida and did not return until his extradition.

Extradition and Arrest

Authorities confirmed to NBC Miami that Brown had been extradited from Dubai, where he was reportedly attempting to evade U.S. law enforcement. He arrived in Newark, New Jersey, before being booked into the Essex County Jail on Thursday.

A U.S. spokesperson said Brown is scheduled to be transported to South Florida, but the exact timing of his transfer has not yet been determined.

Video Evidence

Footage from the May altercation circulated on social media, showing Brown involved in a physical confrontation at the event hosted by internet personality Adin Ross.
