Prince Harry addressed his choice to wear a Dodgers hat during Game 4 of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays. He referred to the incident as “hat-gate.”
“Firstly, I would like to apologize to Canada for wearing it. Secondly, I was under duress,”
Harry, who is in line for the throne, apologized during an interview on CTV News. Many had noted his connection to Canada’s monarchy, which added to the controversy.
He explained that he was invited to the Dodgers’ dugout box by the team owner, Mark Walter, and wore the hat as a polite gesture. Harry said:
“I was invited to the LA Dodgers’ box by the dugout by the owner himself, [Mark Walter] so I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do. But I’m going to wear [this Blue Jays hat] from now on to make sure I don’t make any more of those mistakes.”
“The other piece of this was … when you’re missing a lot of hair on top and you’re sitting under floodlights, you’ll take any hat that’s available,” he said, also expressing his support for the Blue Jays.
Prince Harry apologized for wearing a Dodgers hat at a Toronto Blue Jays game, explaining it was a polite response to an invitation and a way to manage hair loss under stadium lights.
