Electrical Fire Damages a Sisters Home

A small electrical fire damaged a home in Sisters on Monday morning, prompting a reminder from officials about the importance of checking smoke alarms.

The fire occurred shortly before 7 a.m. in the 100 block of North Cowboy Street, according to Deputy Chief Tim Craig. Crews from Sisters-Camp Sherman, Black Butte Ranch, and Cloverdale fire districts responded to the scene.

Shift commander Captain Pat Burke found that the fire was isolated to an exterior outlet on the side of the home and was able to handle the issue with his engine crew. The fire caused damage to the exterior siding and one window of the home.

The incident serves as a seasonal reminder to check smoke alarms when clocks "fall back" in the coming weeks.
