LinkedIn Users in Hong Kong Urged to Check Privacy Settings
Professional networking site LinkedIn is set to resume using user data to train generative artificial intelligence (AI) models starting from next Monday.
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data has urged users to review their settings on the platform, as the updated policy will apply to users in Hong Kong, Europe, and Canada.
LinkedIn had confirmed it would begin using personal data to train its generative AI models starting on November 3.
This move comes after the city's privacy watchdog raised concerns about the platform's default opt-in data use, prompting LinkedIn to halt training in late 2024.
