Cadets to Hold Vigil Before Remembrance Day Service in Brantford

Brantford joins communities across Canada in honoring those who have served and continue to serve during war and peace. Citizens are encouraged to attend and pay their respects.

Community Vigil and Memorial Illumination

On Monday, November 10, 2025, cadets will hold a vigil from 6 p.m. to midnight, resuming at 7 a.m. the following day. Throughout the night, the Brant War Memorial will be illuminated.

Remembrance Day March and Ceremony

Special Recognition and Speech

A student from St. John’s College, winner of a local speech-writing contest, will read her speech titled The Role of Canadian Soldiers in War One.

The ceremony will also honor names recently identified as missing from the Brant War Memorial: one First World War veteran and 22 Second World War veterans.

“We encourage members of our community to join us on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, as we remember, with deep respect and immense gratitude, the remarkable sacrifices of others,” said Sharon Sayles, communications advisor for the City of Brantford.
