The charge is linked to an incident on May 16 during which Brown was briefly detained after gunfire erupted following a celebrity boxing event in Miami. Brown initially claimed on social media that he was “jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.”
“Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED,” Brown wrote.
However, in June, an arrest warrant named Brown as the suspect accused of seizing a handgun from security staff and firing two shots at a man he had fought earlier. Investigators reported that one bullet grazed the victim’s neck.

Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales confirmed that Brown was in custody in Newark, where Miami Police took custody of him. Brown will be extradited to Miami soon to face charges related to the shooting that occurred in the Little Haiti neighborhood.
“Let this serve as a clear message; no matter who you are or where you run, we will pursue the facts, identify you, locate you, and bring you to justice,” Morales wrote.
