Influencer Barbara Jankavski, known to her 55,000 Instagram fans as the "Human Barbie Doll," has died at the age of 31. The Brazilian content creator, who also went by the nickname “Boneca Desumana” (“inhuman doll”), passed away on Sunday, November 2.
According to a police report obtained by CNN Brasil, 51-year-old public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto told authorities that he was with Jankavski the night of her death. He reportedly said he had hired her for sexual services, and that both consumed illicit substances during their meeting.
When Jankavski appeared unresponsive after falling asleep, de Vitto called the Mobile Emergency Care Service and attempted to perform resuscitation for about nine minutes. Paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced her dead at the scene.
CNN Brasil cited statements from São Paulo State Military Police indicating that Jankavski was found wearing only underwear. Authorities also observed an injury near her left eye and marks on her back.
A friend told investigators that the injury on Jankavski’s face came from a prior accident caused by a fall. The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat has ordered both autopsy and toxicology tests to determine the cause of death. The case is being investigated as suspicious.
