Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Glenn Maxwell for the sixth time in T20 cricket, continuing his impressive record against the Australian batter.
Maxwell returned to the playing XI after an injury break. He came in at number seven needing 70 runs off 41 balls. However, tight bowling from Chakaravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, and Washington Sundar forced Maxwell into a risky slog, missing the ball completely and getting bowled.
India set Australia a target of 168 runs. Australia were progressing well initially but lost several wickets in quick succession. The team eventually lost the match by 48 runs, giving India a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
The next game between India and Australia will be played at the Gabba on November 8, 2025 (Saturday).
"Maxwell returned to the XI after an injury layoff. He walked in at seven with 70 needed off 41 deliveries. However, some tight bowling from Chakaravarthy, Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar saw the Australian batter go for a slog. He missed the ball completely, and it just kissed the wickets."
