Dame Helen Mirren, already an acclaimed actress with an Oscar, four BAFTAs, five Emmys, a Tony, and three Golden Globes, is set to receive another major honor. The British acting icon, aged 80, will be awarded the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Golden Globe for lifetime achievement.
The announcement came on Wednesday that Dame Helen will receive the award at a ceremony on January 8, 2026, just three days before the main Golden Globes event. Previous recipients of this award include Meryl Streep, Alfred Hitchcock, and last year’s winner Viola Davis.
"Helen Mirren is a force of nature, and her career is nothing short of extraordinary," said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. "Her transcendent performances and commitment to her craft continue to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike. It is a profound honour to present her with the Cecil B DeMille award."
The January 8 ceremony will also feature the presentation of the Carol Burnett Award for television work, with the recipient yet to be announced.
Dame Helen’s career spans six decades, beginning with her acting debut at age 18 as part of the National Youth Theatre. Her first credited film role was in 1967 in Herostratus.
