Field Fire Extinguished Northwest of Kingsley, Iowa

No injuries were reported after firefighters extinguished a field fire northwest of Kingsley, Iowa.

According to Kingsley Fire Chief Brandon Sitzmann, the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. The fire began in a ditch at C-60 and Noble Ave., northwest of Kingsley, Iowa, and burned around 50 acres, spreading north.

Firefighters from Kingsley responded to the scene around 2 p.m. and were assisted by fire departments from Hinton, Le Mars, and Merrill.

The Kingsley Fire Dept would like to say thank you to the local farmers who brought out disk and assisted with the field fire today. Thank you also to Hinton Fire, Merrill Fire and Lemars Fire.
